A home away from home, not a hotel room

Katerina Maria's Studio and Anastasia's House are two independently owned, independently managed homes in Finikounda, Messinia. Neither is part of a chain. You deal directly with the owner, from the first message to the moment you hand back the key.

What the two share is a set of standards rather than a house style: comfort you actually notice, cleanliness we don't compromise on, uncluttered modern design in neutral tones, real privacy, and a position close to the sea. Both are equipped for genuine day-to-day living — a kitchenette that works, air conditioning that copes with August, fast Wi-Fi, and a modern bathroom.

They suit couples, solo travellers and small families looking for a relaxed, authentic base from which to explore Messinia — the beaches, the castles at Methoni and Koroni, and the tavernas along the sand.

Each has its own character. One is a private countryside house with generous outdoor space and open views; the other a compact, minimal studio in a raised semi-basement, built around simplicity and easy living. Both sit about 400 metres from the beach and 2km from the centre of Finikounda. It's worth reading both.
